Filter bank multi-carrier (FBMC) is considered a promising alternative to the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) scheme. It improves spectral efficiency by eliminating need for cyclic prefix while attenuating interference due robustness of out-of-band emission. In this work, we present framework, and performance evaluation FBMC modulation scheme direct detection optical communications. As proposed model has higher than classical ACO-OFDM, as removing guard interval enhances efficiency. Furthermore, perfect rectangular pulse shaping out band emission filter ACO-FBMC BER ACO-OFDM.
